Two Into One x
Two New York is a treasure trove of beautiful things.
Monica Patel-Cohn, the driving force behind the label, believes that the chic boho vibe stems from her combined Indian and Italian background.
All her clothes are made locally in New York using handmade textiles and saris from India: It’s about quality, it’s about details, it’s about the purity of things.
Pale and interesting with a modern sensibility.
You can indulge your personal sense of style, away from the grunge of Glasonbury with featherlight clothes readymade for the summer urban burn.
A blue to match the colour of your mind, sky and sea..
Sun-meets-fun-eats-chic..
Perfect for a cocktail and a pollution fix on a deck over hanging the main strip peppered with neon lights. and mellow laughs..
…Or on a far-away beach under the stars..

Jackie? Are you there??! x
Leaving on our adventure..not sure how Bella managed to take this pic, but I love the way the shadow looks like a man with a big nose…
Charlie is our fashionisto today..he’s insisted on wearing his top back-to-front..
To match his blue nail varnish (Yep, a fashion statement rather than hyperthermia..)
First part of the journey is by train. The kids are tickled pink by the window of this platform cafe…made on purpose or did someone get bored?!
Fuel stop at Brockley (re-named broccoli by Bella..)
They’re not impressed by my blue egg brunch, but honestly it’s Delicious!
There’s a serendipitous magazine on the table….reminding us we’re here on a mission from New York (Click for the NY link and the complete story!)..we have to find Jackie’s book ‘Silk for the Feed Dog’ before anyone else does..she’s literally sent it from across the Atlantic..
Except – so near yet so far..there’s no effing internet on my phone so now we don’t have a map. Tip to self: Always carry a paper back-up…and we’re on a deadline for the magic to happen..
We jump on a bus..it’s the scenic route but at least I can remember the way from Lewisham (we’re travelling two sides of a very large triangle)..the question is..will we make it in time??
There it is!! London’s smallest library…
Is it there? Are we too late?
YES!! SUCCESSSSSSSSSSSS!
All the way from New York!! Utterly totes amazing!!! So thrilled it’s there and there is such a things as magic in the world..
And the kids are thrilled to swap and find books of their own too..
Time to go home for a nice cup of tea and a good read..except I have two children to entertain…
but hey!..they have books too! Result!

Linking to NY! x
I Dig Kate!
Call me ignorant, but I had no idea that Kate Spade did stationery..possibly because it’s only just come to the UK – Quilllondon.com have started selling them (just so you know – they haven’t asked me to write this! I just love it!) It’s fab…utterly charming, witty..and I want some! The prices are not silly for a bit of designer magic – from £20 – £28 – which makes them the ideal gift..now it’s just a matter of choosing. And that is NOT easy!
This box sorts out all your cards so they’re no longer lying cluttered in a drawer…heaven!
There’s a similar box with ‘enclosure’ cards inside to add the personal touch to presents…j’adore!
Designer drawing pins or paper clips anyone?!
And the notebooks…divine! This one..Eat cake for breakfast..
When’s Christmas??

Flutter by..
The Butterfly is appearing everywhere – McQueen, Valentino and here – with this stunning silk jacquard skirt by the New York label Tome that you just want to touch and treasure. I love the way it’s been styled with the long gloves against the short, loose v-necked cashmere jumper.
Freedom, innocence, peace, good luck, nature, femininity…the butterfly is a powerful symbol throughout the world.
(Cinemagraph from Anne Street Studio..the founders of the Art of Cinemagraph)
But there’s also it’s fragile beauty and delicate symmetry. No wonder we humans are obsessed with capturing it’s heart and soul, if only in an ethereal Cinemagraph. This butterfly was let lose after it’s photoshoot, into the wilds of Manhattan because true beauty should only be admired….

Tracing Traceloops..
Artist/graphic designer/ Animator Mathias Brownis re-working the art of rotoscoping – an animation technique where animations trace real footage from by frame to create live-action animations with a hand-drawn feel – and then mashing it up with gifs to surprising effect.
Tumble also choose him as one of their Talents with special access to New York Fashion Week.
A new set of eyes is always liberating.
For more pictures and insights check out his website. I so want to play…

Relaxed Rachel x
If Rachel Comey and I met we’d be BFs. Seriously.
Her latest AW14 Collection is full of laid back loucheness that manages to sing of both ease and statement.
Neoprene? No. Let’s beautifully quilt everything that moves.
The masculine elements lured away, replaced by feminine curves.
(NB: Wearing brogues without socks is an art form..get it wrong and an unfortunate sucking sound echoes with you down the street frightening small furry animals….just saying)
The colours..
The coat..
It takes nerve to be so every day, but this Collection packs a punch and leaves a powerful sense of self.

Tantalisingly hot print. Sings of summer.
