Special clothes only come out for special occasions, but a special rug? It’s a red carpet under your feet every day.

Alexander McQueen spent three years designing this Collection for the Rug Company, taking their craftsmanship to new, couture levels.

Like iridescent jewels they weave a spell of fantasy and wonder.

Sarah Burton enthuses, “The Rug Company shares similar values to Alexander McQueen. It’s about offering a product that is precious and luxurious that showcases the best of British design and traditional craftsmanship.”

It’s a  little bit of McQueen on earth,

Your “red carpet” reference makes me think of something : wouldn’t it be wonderful if the BAFTA red carpet tonight looked like this fabulously whimsical rug ? Enjoy your children’s half term ! xxxxx

My Goodness — those are gorgeous and I am moving, so I desire something new. Guessing that theses rugs/homegoods are way beyond my price point. Ah, well. XO

That is beautiful. My grandmother had a Persian carpet when I was growing up and I used to lie flat on my belly on it and trace the patterns for hours. I thought it was one of the most beautiful things in the world.

There is something magical about a beautiful carpet..it’s something I always wanted to own. We have one in our bedroom now and it’s heavenly..although the men who delivered thought I was mad as I wanted it upside down!! I like the back and the way it looks softer and like tapestry…

Sigh. I don’t even know what to do with this collection because I love it so much…I like the whimsy of the hummingbirds, which is a bit “non-traditional” in terms of nature design. Very gorgeous- and of course, the very interesting play on the butterfly wings is also unexpected. I want all of it- lol!! xo
