There’s a perverse delight in unearthing a bargain, and one of my best ever were these earrings from Siren London – not that you could buy this exact earring as they were actually my mash-up of two of their pairs…but it’s still possible to emulate.
The ‘kiss’ part was from one pair, and the lips from another – the ‘kiss’ earring was a ridiculously clever design with the word being a separate part of the earring which then hung off the main stalk of the stud and looked cunningly suspended just below the earlobe. The design meant there’s this blue-sky-thinking ability to use ANY stud earring to hang the word from. Sadly ‘kiss’ is no longer available..but ‘love’ is (tempted?) The lips were then the perfect foil to the words, but at £3.94 precisely one had to worry about their quality (having said that – I never got an allergic reaction wearing them) and how long they’d last..but now there’s a rather wonderful solution..
As requested in the original post, there’s now a posh version available..which means treasure, longevity and rapture..
Aamaya by Priyanka also has some other rather cheeky, desirable designs..

So here’s the thought: Indulge and mix them all up..sad face on one side with ‘kiss’…(yep..still got mine..)

Heart eyes on other with ‘love’..

Twinkle Twinkle Little Star x
Theodora Ware is about the dignity of good design with a fair price – £40 for these beauties.
How much would I love to find a pair of these nestling in my stocking on Christmas day?
There’s nothing shallow or ugly – it’s strong, simple, classic and timeless with just enough attitude for a pair of lacewing flights of fancy..and a little edge..
The sort of pieces I want to treasure forever..

Into the Groove x
All around the sign of the moment appears to be the evil eye, an ancient symbol that crosses cultures and religions, always ready to ward off danger.
What I didn’t know is that different colours have different meanings..adds to the appeal..
But instead of following the jewellery sheep, maybe there’s another way to embrace the trend..
(All pictures from pintrest)
Simple, effective…different…especially that last one..

A Stitch in Time..
The Joy of the blogsphere is the treasure hunt that is discovering all the ideas and amazing products out there in the big wide world. This beauty was first spotted by the lovely Andreannadais on her Blog, but it was so good I feel the need to spread the love a bit further..
Harvey and Quinn is a jewellery company set up by Rachel Harvey and lucy Quinn that specialises in creating jewellery that is both nostalgic and contemporary. Their main source of inspiration are vintage buttons and the wealth of workmanship and wonder they have to offer.
They say: ‘For us each button tells a story, an intriguing glimpse of a forgotten past.’
It also helps that their pricing is incredibly sensible, starting at £32.00 and rising for special bespoke pieces.
For me they represent every thing I love: A forgotten quality item turned into a beautiful butterfly ready to fly forever. The magpie within is singing with joy..

Simply Made x
Made was born from a desire to create beautiful products using traditional time-honoured skills and fashion led design: Made believe that people really matter, that if you look after the employees it translates through into what they make. It’s a meeting of beautiful thinking and beautiful doing where object and intention come together to create something truly special and unique whilst embracing cultures, personalities and genuine gorgeousness..
They are also dedicated to using the most environmentally friendly products possible: Their signature style comes from an extensive use of reclaimed brass which has a warmth and a softness unlike any other metal.
But what makes them standout is the balance between tradition/friend of the earth and cutting edge fashion: Their sharp design skills come from a willingness to collaborate with some of the best the fashion and design world has to offer – Edun, Lois Vuitton, Whistles, Asos, TopShop to name just a few, all adding to a sense of continual growth and exploration of ideas.
I particularly love these pieces by Imogen Belfield, already touted by Vogue as an up and coming designer, her designs have a sense of presence and tactileness that make them exceptionally appealing: They’re a little bit of sunshine…
Mi piace..
Time to stand outside the circle.

Bill Skinner x
What’s a girl to do when faced with such gorgeousness? Possibly write a very large wish list and place it somewhere purposeful and prominent. With a begging money box on the side. Classic with a giggle, Bill Skinner has a way of capturing the essence of vintage for the modern wardrobe – this enchanting Butterfly pendant is hand carved and enamelled with even the glass dome hand blown in Kent. Makes the £90 price tag seem a bargain…
Or how about a Kingfisher? (They remind me of all things delicious – dollshouses, Victorian taxidermy..and do you remember those tiny glass bottles filled with beads that passed as fairy dust??)

Bill Skinner learnt his trade with the best: Asprey, Arpels, Garrards and Van Cleef. Followed by a polishing of Street from Butler & Wilson and the wonderful Vivienne Westwood.
Influenced by heritage but not stuck in the past his designs always have that touch of fun.
Adore!
Designs of delight and a price point that works..what’s not to love? Now… where’s that credit card hiding…

Funky and Fanciful x
There’s a serendipity when things that aren’t perfect just are.
Like an unexpected marriage of colour, nostalgia and manipulation.
But then would you expect any more from Karen Walker?
(I want this bow necklace. Like now…)
The Queen of witchy powers, always willing to throw magic into the mix. And cackle with glee at the results..
