Cabin Porn x
I think we all have a secret something we wish would or could happen. Mine would be a shack by the sea. But I’ve found myself recently dreaming of mountains, snow and vistas of unending wilderness. In my mind I’m seeing this as a conscious unconscious dream, a mixing of lockdown, the same four walls on repeat combined with winter, an acceptance of hibernation and the colder season of winter.
If pictures are not enough, there are two Youtube channels I’ve discovered (I’m sure there are plenty more) that open the door to another world, if only for a little while…
This is Hannah Lee Dugan, living in her cabin. If she’s not in her cabin, she lives in her converted van.
This is Tova and her family, living off grid in the Forrests of Jamtland, Sweden.
Enjoy!

Josef Frank
As winter creeps closer it seems that colour is saturating the eyeballs like a renaissance of the eighties. It’s disappearance happened so gradually, a fading out, a dying down that it’s resurgence feels all the more powerful, poignant even. Not that the cyclical power of trend should come as a surprise – the picture of the wallpaper above was designed by Josef Frank, who emigrated to Sweden in 1933, gaining citizenship in 1939 and became the most prestigious designer in the Stockholm design company Svenskt Tenn. New is never really new..
Whilst his furniture is classic of its time: clean lines, functionality.
It’s his fabrics and textiles that seem so forward thinking, modern and exciting.

Design Classic x
Camilla Lundsten is a former designer for Ikea who then published a highly successful series of childrens books’ based around a little red elephant called Littlephant.
Demands from friends and family persuaded her to launch of her own homeware/toybrand…and the making of this drool house and future design classic.
Her philosophy presses many happy polka dot buttons: ‘To simplify everyday life with long-lasting objects that are practical and as eco-friendly as possible’.
Combine that with the alchemy of faultless design, iconic textiles, hours of play, rampant imagination and the urge to make more yourself just to add to the ongoing joy…and it’s product made in heaven.
