Allelujah!
The Row have presented their Pre-fall 2014 Collection using Linda Roden as one of their models which is utterly refreshing – it’s about time sophistication was used to sell to the sophisticated.
In the larger scheme of things it represents a pee in the Pacific. But it’s something.
Just a shame the Collection itself is so harmless and she has so little to work with – it doesn’t shout, doesn’t dance, doesn’t impress with ingenue and life. There’s no seduction or provocation.
The best thing is this leather skirt.
But the whole thing could be a Marks and Spencers commercial.
So different to the Karen Walker campaign above and below. Style and colour is so much more attractive.
Which shows it’s not youth that makes an impression, but good design.

wow is this a new trend?
I hope so. I would love to see women showing ideas I could grow into..
exactly! I hope this is the beginning 🙂
May be that’s why they chose this GORGEOUS model! xxx
She is fabulous….collection not so! Xx
I love this – she steals the show. Amazing and inspiring!
Dress is very glamorous, fabulous, beautiful, mid age woman is looking beautiful with it. This is trend of 1960’s & it comes again. Collection is good.
love the use of non-traditional lookbook models! Really opens up their demographic and shows that the clothes are timeless and classic xx
I agree x
What a gorgeous campaign, absolutely love it, especailly the last shot!

Exactly ! I want to see inspiration for my older self rather than think ‘oh I like this cut but it apparently is for 17 year old girls’. It s also about realism for Christ’s sake. Considering The Row’s price tag, are we supposed to believe that pre teens are really their core customers? Hope Burberry sees this ….
This is where my huge problem lies with the fashion world..how can women start feeling happy about themselves when what their being sold is a lie? xxx
The wrinkles are new for such a campaign but the XS size remains .:)
We’ll take them on, one battle at a time…
Ashley and Mary-Kate Olsen don’t follow the trends and have found a great icon to personify their timeless elegance ! It’s a shame that it’s not as flamboyant as Karen Walker’s campaign though ! xxxxx
They are two young girls…but this collection is so..dowdy! Linda Roden does her best..but she positively glitters in the Karen Walker campaign.. x
Beautifully simple shots but I agree the collection looks rather mundane and there is little for Linda Roden to work with. It needs a few statement pieces and definitely lacks colour. She still looks fabulous!
Maison-You have to check out one of my favorites…Your post today reminded me of it.

Arrrrr – you know me well – one of my absolute favourites too..LOVE those women – this is what advertisers should be thinking of and using.. x
Agreed! She is all I see. The clothes are anonymous, won’t remember them after I press Post Comment. It should be an offense to remove all the color from Linda Rodin’s universe!
That’s it – they cost all that money..and they’re anonymous…not right, not good x
I absolutely LOVE this collection and I’d buy every piece and stop shopping for the rest of my life. Linda Rodin is drop dead gorgeous, always has been, and she looks lovely in colours and prints (LOVE those sunglasses) but the leather? The wools? The cuts? Just perfect! I’m a fan!
One mans meat! But give me Valentino any day..or Chloe! xxx
I just love how understated and classic it all is. I just realized that The Row was the Olsen girls line. And Valentino’s 2014, with the owls?, fabulous too. But also very quiet. I wonder if it isn’t time to add some colour to my closet – and maybe my hair?
Go for it!! I’m seeing pink – for the hair!! For me the Valentino just had that touch of magic..the last dress couldn’t have been simpler..but it radiated quality and class. Maybe it’s that quiet line between and trained designer and aspiring ones…
Awesome model and good collection! What a nice change to see this.
Wow- this one is leaving me a little speechless. I’m just totally enamored! I think the looks are perfectly simple and styled well, but show how great the designs are- I also love how they featured such an elegant woman instead of the “traditional” model. LOVE!

She is a great model, for me is like she is a different person/character in each photo; of the collection I like the leather jacket, and the tailoring of the jackets are exquisite.
Such a beautiful and elegant model! Such fantastic clothes as well!
I love the fact that an older woman is represented although I would love to see my age group 40’s – 50’s represented far more within the fashion industry. x
God, she looks incredible!
I love the two “colorful” pictures of the lady and the style – she looks good in it.
In the top pictures the fashion makes her look dull and old = sophistication? I don’t think so.
Have a great evening 🙂
It’s not fair – they finally use a stunning older model..and give her boring clothes! I gnash my teeth again! x
I actually really like the dark, traditional clothes–but I know nothing about staying up to date. I think using Rodin as model is fab!
But I could find it all on the high street..there’s nothing new here. If I was paying that sort of money (thousands) I really want it to matter…
Fab! I’m loving it ;D

Hats off to The Olsen’s for using Linda Rodin–she totally personifies timeless style + elegance…
and agree the collection is somewhat understated visually, but most likely a dream to touch…
and adore how Arno Frugier has captured this mix of somber simplicity with softness in his photos…
absolutely beautiful and very compelling–I find them all quite stunning!! ~xo
Actually, I love the leather Trench and the Cocoon Coat with the turtleneck. And, I do love that final photo. My Mum dressed to the nines while I was growing up. She’s burned out a bit at 80+, but I know her size, I send her items from the City and she looks smokin’ — plus I know that she feels good with a fresh look. I do have to say that I test drive the shoes before I send them, I worry about her balance, XO
I LOVE that final photo..Karen Walker just got it so right. I miss that vitality from The Row pictures..even a bright coloured lipstick or a bright colour on the sunnies could’ve made all the difference.. xxx

Oh love this comparison. Design and color are everything! X
TIMELESS!!!!
