Cultured Collabs..

graphic_06_lowresCultured Collabs. Sounds a bit like a highly contagious and serious fungal infection. But I couldn’t help noticing that the imitable Garance (we love her) has stolen ma thunder copied homaged followed my lead and written a post (OK. It was Alex) with exactly the same title as ours yesterday..but switching it around..

What about Designer collaborations?

Karl Lagerfeld & H&M

Giles Deacon & New Look

Jill Sander & Uniqlo

Roksanda Illincic &Whistles

Holly Fulton & Whistles

They do give us mere mortals the chance to buy some serious bling at High Street Prices…Or by doing this, does the Brand spread itself too thin and lose it’s prestige and exclusivity? Is it worth it for the bun-fight at the cash till? Do you want your designer purchase (let’s pretend) to be the complete shopping experience?? Or are you happy just to own a little bit anyway you can?

Do you wear it? – or treasure it as a potential investment?

P.S. If Team Garance want any more tips on Blog Posts…we’re happy to share….Particularly as we think Garance would look very fetching in one of our collars..

I’ve def. noticed more collabs lately which I think is a double-edge sword because it’s so much more affordable but at the same time I think the designer does lose some prestige and exclusivity when everyone can purchase it. I love owning designer bags/accessories/clothes & knowing very few people have what I’m wearing!

The problem I have is the crowds…I like my shopping to be an experience, even when it’s not designer. I fall into the category of I would happily have less but better quality..including fighting my way to the cash till.. xxx

I really love the shopping experience, whether it is designer or not. I dislike the crowd that comes storming and stomping the shops down. Terrible. And honestly? I prefer the real deal. It is very expensive, but it is worth it! The brands aren’t shoving their prestige away, I just don’t really see those collaborations as a ‘real’ designer piece. PS: that collar is amazing! Love it!

Such good taste!! I am reminded of when I met my husband..I was a penniless musician, he knew every restaurant in London…but I had the unbridled joy of appreciating the treat that eating out was to me. Something I never intend to lose. Xxxxx

one of my favourite collaborations was anna dello russo’s line of accessories collaboration with Swedish fashion giant H&M.The ornate feather hat which was my favorite piece from the collection is a piece which will never go out of season and will continue making statements, just like Anna Dello 🙂
