Rain, Rain Go Away..
It’s dismal in London with driving rain, strong winds and the knowledge that we’re no longer in the land of fairy lights, pine cones and endless glitter. So I thought what better time than the New Year to break the diet fall off the wagon get even more depressed give me a facelift to give the Blog a facelift?
I’m liking the new size of pictures..
Means you can now see the clouds reflecting in this one.
This is our new pond on the Common. Has the ducks mighty confused.
The weather means the sky has been turning all sorts of colours.

At least we’ve all been safe at home, snuggled up – next week it’s back to the daily grind and the school run…weather please, please improve otherwise I’ll be investing in a fisherman’s sou’wester. And a boat.
Laters, Kate x

the title…it is how I feel… here in Finland usually this time of year, we have tons of snow and cold as hell, but now only rain rain rain… it is driving me crazy 😀 there are so dark, that no natural light for any photoshoots outside 😀
But yes I like your facelift 😉
I am so surprised – was really expecting you to be all white and glittery! There’s nothing romantic about rain..except the reflections! xxx
I actually love rain… when it is not raining every day 😀 It can be really romantic 😉
Hoping to get some snow end of the week ❤
Bonjour
Great Photos ‘ remind me why l dont miss living in London.
Regards
Dan
I would always miss London..but then I’m a fully signed up city chick..doesn’t mean I don’t like the country, just I need that shot of pollution! x
Lovely reflections…….and I love London – but bring on London in the summer! x
I hate wishing away time, but I can’t wait…being able to sit on the grass without getting a wet bum! xxx
Wonderful shots, I am so sick of the rain, Hurry up Spring 🙂
It has been endless..I’m sure we must all be suffering from vitamin D deficiency… xxx
Ooh, I love the new look and all these big, beautiful photos!
Aren’t they great? In an ideal world I’d like to change the fonts down the right hand side too to something a bit lighter…one day hey! Step by step.. xxx
Not sure which is worse….rain or a deep freeze. Time to become Snowbirds and jump to the Southern Hemisphere.
We were hearing about your deep freeze on the news today..UK – gales and storms, US – minus thirty on the way…just hope the heating doesn’t pack up!! Ours is ugly, but at least we can be blown around and are not housebound xxx
I love your new theme and Bella and Charlie’s Ugg boots ! Even in Marseille, we never had so much rain, this is so depressing … I hate climate change ! xxxxx
They’ll be very pleased they got spotted! Life somehow continues but everyones heads go down…I would like a few frosty days with clear blue skies… xxx
Lovely photos, thanks so much for sharing. Here we have been enjoying the beautiful sunshine during the day but it does get cold at night. Be warm and safe, Sara
Have a word with the sun please, and tell him we are in need of a few nice days…one in three weeks is not enough! xxx
See, you *say* it’s miserable and then you show us these beautiful pictures. The ducks aren’t the only ones not sure what to think.
If you find a sou’ wester do let me know, though. I searched high and low for one a few years back without success. Actually I don’t really need one at the moment but I still feel that sense of frustration at not having found what I was after.
Hehe! Drama always makes for a good pic! The sou-wester in my mind is bright yellow with a kangaroo pocket on the front? Although I can’t really complain – I do have a full length australian driesabone (prob spelt all wrong) that is my go-to when the heavens open…xxx
It’s so nice that you can find the beauty even in your crazy weather! And the blog looks terrific!
I’m in the mood for spring cleaning..I think! But I felt this was a very visual blog..so the bigger the pictures, the better! xxx
New year, new style makeover. Lovely. Your children are so cute!
!! We were heading to a matinee performance at the National Theatre to see Emil and the Detective – was excellent – and I think particularly good to see children in the main roles for the kids xxx
It is vile at the moment, isn’t it? Although your pics almost make it look like fun.
Almost! Charlie thinks the puddles are fab..I’m a bit over being splashed and getting through several pairs of trousers a day (mine!) arggghhhhhh! Where is the sun?! xxxx
Lovely images…..shite weather darling. Dates for our meet up?…..when suits? Xx
There is nothing in the diary next week…….dot dot dot! xxx
Beautiful pictures…surely the weather will get better soon xx
As I write this there is a tiny patch of blue in front of me..surrounded by dark, angry swirling clouds..and it’s gone! xxx
I love all the rainy photos
When we went to Brighton, I really loved the pictures I managed to take there with all the reflections, but there was a lot of blue sky too..here it has been very different, but still good fodder for pictures – I can’t complain! xxx
Lovely photos!! I’m snuggled down in Philadelphia as well – third cup of tea, trying to keep warm despite the frozen drops hitting my windows! xxx
Cup of tea..that’s what I need..have you ever tried it with a slice of ginger in? Just ordinary tea with a slice of real ginger – is incredible! xxx
Ooohhh no I haven’t but that sounds fabulous – I’ll surely give it a go! I’ve always been a honey or lemon girl . . . xxxx
Reblogged this on The Pretty Canary.
Thank you! x
I feel the same way!! Though it’s snow here- it’s just relentless! I love your photos, as always! Completely gorgeous! Hope you’re having a great start to the new year! (minus the rain!) xo
The sky is now black..downpour just about to start..it’s 9.30 am and we have to have the lights on it’s so dark…and down it comes! The image of snow from this distance seems so pretty…but I fully appreciate it has it’s own problems..we’re just all turning very mouldy here! xxx
Absolutely, roll the frisky spring weather; I loved London in the spring, when everyone is doing away with a layer or two. I will not begin to say what the weather is like downunder today – although, we have had our fair share of rain showers over the festive season. I think your new blog layout is marvelous, wishing you Kate a fabulous 2014! kx
I want to see blossom and daffodils and crocuses and tulips and bluebells and have a cup of coffee outside in a cafe and go into my garden which is a swamp monster and not have wet hair where ever I go. Sigh. It WILL happen! it will get better! xxx
The new style looks great and tho photos are as fab as usual!! The weather in London doesn’t look good. Hope it will improve by when I return home… xxx
I hope so too! Loving your Japanese diary though..is refreshing to see it all through the eyes of a native xxxxx
I love the reflection shots!
Looking fabulous as always. I love the big pics! I live right in the shadow of the rainforest. Never fizzes on us Pacific Northwesteners. Rain rain rain…hah! No one even breaks a stride here. My beef? It’s really COLD rain right now. However the sunsets are magnificent. As are your photo’s.
I used to live up in the lakes in Italy where it rained a LOT. But I think what made the difference was there was a rainy season..but even in the rainy season, it would be torrential and then clear…in the UK it is very dark and grey and very windy. No respite. Sigh. We’ll have to find the magic elsewhere xxxx
