Transitioning..
It’s easy to feel nostalgic as the summer slowly sinks to it’s demise, but I rather enjoy the dissecting of what worked and finger pointing new desires…
For next summer I’m after loose, 90’s style t-shirt dresses with low v necks, slouchy shoulders and clever rounded pockets.
Where did this come from? But I’m feeling the love for a pair of proper thin leather Roman sandals in WHITE. I think it started with Vanessa Bruno’s SS13 collection and lusting after the heeled gladiators with 3/4 length trousers..
Autumn is almost better than New Year for a fresh start and the urge to turn out unwanted bits, to salvage and re-invent..and my heart is drawn to denim, crystallised, I suspect, by Miu Miu’s iconic SS13 Collection..
The shapes, the nostalgia, the witty lining of duchesse satin ..I completely and utterly fall..and am only caught by the price..
Still, there are a number of 90’s (that era again..) vintage options with great shapes.
This with a pair of Dicker boots..
How gracefully they smoothly integrate into the inevitable downward slide of the thermometer.
Perfect for layering – the ultimate rehearsal clothes..before winter has us in it’s freezing grip..

I have a picture of my mother in the 70s wearing a black pair with a fuschia top, large earrings and tiny pair of shorts – I confess now..we always teased her terrible taste…maybe I should gather my courage and ask her!
Nothing will make your mother happy than to see her kids, especially those who teased her before, to ask about her fashion. I bet!

Can’t wait for autumn, wearing trench coats, jackets, scarves and shawls again….love the dark blue/navy outfits……it looks so polished…..twice better than black.:-)

Vanessa Bruno’s gladiators are so covetable ! The last look is fantastic too because, in spite of the thigh-high boots, it’s not vulgar at all ! I always enjoy the subtle poetry that appears in your words too ! XXX

I simply adore all the denim dresses! Especially the one with the large pockets. I’ve always felt as you do, that fall is actually a better “New Year.”
I love the shape of this dress too – I think it is so flattering with the pockets making the waist look so slim..but I like it in a comfortable slouch shape, easy to move in.. xxx
LOVE t-shirt dresses, especially slouchy ones where you can wear them carefree off the shoulder:)
They are really missing from my wardrobe..and they are so easy to wear – and have that marvellous option to wear with a pair of battered sneakers or tart up with high heels.. xxx
