Quirky Appeal x
I’m a sucker for vintage children’s illustrations and have found myself photographing the back of a free magazine every time it comes through the door…it might be advertising for a local estate agents, but they’ve still got something..

And then today, I thought I was in for the usual hamster-in-a-wheel trip to the supermarket..but the Gods must’ve been smiling.. look what I found in the car park!
Broken glass and a bit damp, but it soon dried out.
Sigh.

Hans Christian Anderson. Sigh..a gateway to heaven! x
I too love vintage children’s prints. It brings me back to childhood, I love the old cartoons too!
There’s something about them that makes me think of hot chocolate, woolly knitted mittens, patchwork quilts and fluffy kittens! xxx
Seeing those old prints really sparks the imagination.
There was real craftsmanship in them there drawings..hope you had a lovely Canada day! xxx
This is so cute. I love drawing and children’s illustrations is one of the subject I love most.
Same! How much do you heart the old Alice and Wonderland drawings?
Oh, there is such an eerie-ness and underlying “heeby-geeby” feeling to those pictures, but the artwork is so great. You don’t see that very often anymore.
We were just saying the other day how we felt the ‘drama’ had gone out of photography..bring it back!! xxx
